About this basket
One basket, two jobs: a laundry hamper in the bathroom or bedroom, and a bin for empty bottles and cans in the kitchen or utility room. The fitted lid has a round opening in the middle, so everything drops straight in without lifting anything, and the lid still comes off completely when it is time to empty it.
Handwoven rod by rod from Lithuanian willow in our family workshop, in wide bands of pale gold and deep brown. The lid sits down into the plaited rim and stays where you put it, and the braided ring around the opening keeps the edge smooth on the hands. At 70 cm it takes a full load without spreading across the floor.
